T.I. is only 31 years old, but the Atlanta rapper already figures himself in rap's elder statesmen category.
"I just recognize myself as being the oldest young guy in the game and the youngest old guy in the game," Tip said when he appeared on "RapFix Live" on August 15.
Just because Tip is aware of his veteran status, doesn't mean that he's ready to hang up his mic ... not in the least. "There's tons left for me to accomplish. I'm still looking forward to having the #1 album and the #1 movie in the same week. I think that's one of the things I gotta do before I get outta here," he told MTV News' Sway Calloway.
Jennifer Lopez accomplished the feat in 2001 when her sophomore album J. Lo and romantic comedy "The Wedding Planner" bested the competition in the same week.
The Trap Muzik MC almost hit the mark in 2006 when he released King and his film "ATL." The album snagged the #1 spot on the Billboard album charts, but "ATL" came in third behind the animated hit "Ice Age: The Meltdown" and Denzel Washington and Spike Lee's heist flick "The Inside Man."
It's a safe bet that with his next album, Tip will notch another #1. Trouble Mandoesn't have a solid release date, but is expected to drop sometime before the end of the year. T.I.'s next film "Identity Theft," is slated for a 2013 release, so it may be some time before the rapper/actor hits his goal.
